Buying cheap Stanley 30-824 8m/26 x 1-Inch LeverLock Tape Rule (cm Graduation) Stanley 30-824. I have owned a couple of these and the lever system is the most intuitive for me. Unfortunately, its just plastic on the blade that keeps it locked, and that plastic wears over time. If you use it every day, you might get a year out of it if you are lucky. I get maybe two years. Granted, its only $10 or so, but I hate throwing things like this out.
